Mine's a tray, fairly light and unloaded, and yes, I do drive like an old lady. Lead foots drink heavily.

    ahhh.....

    the penny drops...

yes buy about 3-400KG if memory serves..

most of my running wasnt hard pushing as I was doing the timing the lights thing..

as for setting them up all Ive done to it so far is jigg the dizzy timing a little and connect the 2 carbs throttle levers together which was why it was down on power only one carb was running with about a 9 inch of mercury diffference between the 2 carbs before I started.

If you are willing to stuff around on a dyno, change needle and seats and tune the dizzy advance curve it is possible to get up to 25 MPG out of a 9.2:1 3.5V8.I have done it.
Stuffed if I can get an EFI to do it though

Your figures are practically useless, you did 30km's and refuelled, way to many margins are fine lined there, you need to use tankfulls to retrieve accurate figures

Im using the same test run for each run while I dial in some minor changes as Im trying to tune it Im after the big number changes.

even the 200Ks worth of running that I did before I started playing with tightening up the linkages only burnt up 28L

no I think I have it sussed.

one of the carbies isnt playing the game....

wont make 100 and I cant even hold 80 on a hill and after the tip run with me alex and SWMBO its 2t with a full tank.

Think its time to take it to a carby specialist.

Does this setup return warm fuel to the tank?
On EFI vehicles you can get enough heat into the fuel to skew the volume by a measurable amount.
The way around it is pretty easy, let the tank cool before refilling it. Overnight is good.

Or just keep doing laps and burn enough fuel to minimise the fillup error.

8 laps today, from the rough numbers ATM id be pretty happy to call it 14ish l/100 but I've got bugger all power the fuel heat issue Im aware of which is why I was only doing short runs and then topping the tank off

the cars alright for town cruising ATM but Id hate to be doing a trip in it.

I have a bad feeling that one (and therefore both) strommies are in want of a major overhaul, I got the timing stable but still cant get it to do a stable warm idle or restart without a little choke....

Its been way too long since I setup carbies.
