    isuzu & LPG

Well YT110 and I when and picked up my county yesterday. Having just had LPG fumigation fitted, first impressions were good I had more power on 1/2 throttle than full. Off to yt110s place out with the spanner, backed the fueling back 3/8s of a turn and I still had more power.

For those that know the area. Mt barker onramp to Adelaide, usually saw me sitting at 75klm in 3rd and a nice fine black plume following.
Last night it was 95klm in 4th no smoke. So quite impressed so far.

so (thank you Bee Utey) - free plug!!!

Now I have never been scared in an Isuzu on the road, but in YT110s turbocharged intercooled and tweaked monster. heading up to the eagles nest from Adelaide side as yt110 hunted down and passed Nissans and Toyotas, having to brake into cnrs and back off though the tunnel. Never been in a defender like that before, cheaper than a puma as well.

    Hey mate,

    Sounds awesome.

where did you put your LPG tanks? Kms per tank? Can you run without gas if you run out?

Hey I just put it on! figures will happen after a few (long range) diesel tank loads. The little gas tank hides under the RH sill shown here without the bash guard. It holds 27 litres of LPG, should be enough to do 100litres of diesel with a bit of fine tuning. Gas has on/off switch with gauge built in, just a car type gas switch.

1 tank, right hand side out side of the rail. it is mounted ( quite nicely) a bit higher then the bottom of the rail. 28 ltrs in theory good for another 200 plus klms

And yes no gas no problem, just keep on trucking

No way would you compare the gas to a turbo but

Mate its even better today, reset the idle correctly, I had just would up the cable when I was doing some nasty descents of lose flint.

The off micro switch is now on at 95% of throttle so i now have almost a full rev range, and the total fuel pressure is back up 1/8 th or in other words a full 1/4 down on pre gas. Haven’t touched the gas flow yet.

i feal the timing could come back a bit, which would work well in the lower revs but not so good on the highway

Turbo is better but turbo plus gas is best. Turbo will increase air supply with extra gas fuelling, atmo needs winding the diesel back a bit as mentioned.
