Towed a Camry on a car trailer back from the east coast today, upstream temps on hills, (and there are a few long steep ones,) didn't exceed 540, and regularly saw 100+km/h in top gear (2100rpm) on the flat at 380 to 440. This is with my 'conservative' 'fuel map'
With a small spanner and flat blade screwdriver , in a few seconds I can dial in another 15 to 20% more torque, and still not see more than 650. Most I have ever seen is 690, and at that fuel setting it is transmission and clutch destroying. (It ate up 3 Autos this way
)
There is NO WAY a Tdi, however tweaked, will equal the job my Suzi did today
