Being the aluminium cover with the tin cover on top, is it going to ever so slightly reduce the engine noise over the pressed tin truck cover.
Anyone see any pro's and con's to this?
Don't you have a MIG? Just un-rusthole it

Is it double layer at that point or just single so the oil falls out?

If its just a small rust hole clean it up a bit first, then grab a lump of copper bus bar and hold it on the back side and build it up with short tacks from the MIG. The weld won't stick to the copper.

Pin hole in large rust section, would require cut and shut which I could easily do, but, the top sound insulation tin cover is very rusted beyond repair I think where the rubber pinch weld went all the way around the cover.

Bugger. If you use the old alloy one you'll have to get a larger breather put into it. Other option might be to rip the acoustic cover off the truck one and replace it with an alternate acoustic material?

Trying to remember how i ran the smaller breather in my old application, my provent ran to a 25mm pipe i had tigged onto the side tappet cover. Assuming i could just swap the side cover over and the na valve cover over to my T motor?

You could, but be better off to TIG a larger breather into the alloy cover I reckon like Matt did with the cover in the 120.

It wasn't anything fancy, just a ~25mm diam piece of tube welded onto the LH side of the cover, connected out to the Provent. Probably had something on the inside to prevent splashed oil from heading out the hole but I don't think there was any detail on that - just an external photo.
Good thing about doing similar on yours is that you get to put the pipe in a convenient place so that it works with your IC etc.
