Yeah - its looking more like that each day
Think I'll just whack the bus bar on them before I go and throw in short lead that will reach to the alternator stud if necessary. Bit easier to handle round small terminals than my monster jumper leads.

I=V divided by R ..... I=amps v= volts R= resistance.... test the ohms (R) of the plugs and then your set....i havnt used the glow plugs on mine for years (thinking they were working but they must have stopped working when the isuzu electrical system was made ) only time its been stopped was when it got that cold everything started to freeze from the snow when camped overnight I am placing mine on a toggle switch so I can use them when I feel the need keeping in mind I'm the only one that drives the car so if I forget to turn them off its my fault

Well then put them on a momentary push button not a toggle

wire up for an 80 amp draw, the 4bd1 has 4x12 plugs wired in parallel. 1 ohm resistance each depending on various factors the current draw will be between 40 and 60 amps.

Auh momentary ON pushbutton would be ideal forgot about those buggers also off topic again but does anyone have a wiring diagram off the "edet"or start/stop motor/actuator ? I can find it in the schematic for the whole car but I cannot manage to figure out where to connect the wires since im rewiring the whole car to a more basic form there is 5 wires 1 is black the rest are blue with a colour band.

Mine has the whole lot connected together on two relays. The main relay is energised by key-on, I haven't looked to see what purpose the second one serves.

Glow plugs on a 4BD1??? What are those?

There are aftermarket glow plug management relays/ timers available, a bit $$$ but are adjustable even for staged 'afterglow' and IMO well worth it if operating in very cold areas.

JC they're those funny pencil looking things that fill up the holes where you attach the compression gauge (or that you remove so you can turn the engine over easily by hand). for some reason they have a strap connecting all 4 together.

they make pretty good soldering irons once you get all the carbon off of them.
