With the winged sump I usually put in 9L thereabouts with no trouble apart from the fact it was probably a waste...with this wingless sump I will be running the same as what you said dougal...
As for oil drain into factory position I would like to but on the NA block it does not have a flat surface it only has 2 risen bits cast that would be where the 2 bolts would go on a factory setup...I'll take pics this afternoon to help..
I will most likely just tap into the hole that is just above the filter as I cannot see any problem as long as oil is clean and has a bit of pressure I should be safe(having said that its probably because i have already bought expensive fittings to suit
)
As you said John about the oil drain in reference to oil level I will stay clear of draining to the sump as I am worried that there is a chance of oil level moving and covering drain which would not be good...
