Mate well done. Good idea doing it out of the vehicle. Can you take the radiator and support panel out for a one piece installation??

Haha after talking to you about finding one I thought I would look a bit harder and ended up finding one I came across a 6bb1 but the housing is considerably larger depth wise and also has large mounting arms on it... Well I have been looking at how to make my own shifting mechanism as Sheldon has not responded to me either however its proving difficult with no dimensions as for the lt230 I am yet to seperate it from the lt85 but from what I have read i will probably end up running a short jack shaft which I am yet to figure out how to stop the shaft from coming out the transfer when put under load and also sealing etc etc

ok i have came across a large problem the 4BA1 flywheel housing fits to the 4BD1 and the 4BA1 flywheel housing also bolts up to the MXA box BUT the 4BD1 flywheel will not fit inside the 4BA1 flywheel housing the 4BD1 flywheel is 388mm diameter and the 4BA1 flywheel housing is around 380mm ID...

i am trying to figure out what i should do....if i go larger flywheel housing to accommodate the 4BD1 flywheel then it will not fit the MXA box so i am pretty much back to square 1 which was the landrover flywheel housing so can anyone confirm that a 4BD1 flywheel will fit inside a 4BE1 flywheel housing ????(if so i will do this option) maybe as john has suggest get an adaptor ring to mate the landrover flywheel housing to the MXA however as mentioned before no one has been able to get in touch with sheldon and i have no measurements to go from as i would make one myself if i had some measurements to go from....

Are you talking LR flywheel or NPR flywheel?

You can probably find one of the truck (4BD1) variants with a flywheel small enough.

    Yep landrover flywheel 275mm clutch.

Well I was talking to a person the sarvo that has a lot to do with these combos and the best way to go would be as I think you are suggesting and getting a 4BD1 truck flywheel housing or 4BE1 housing....

The options have been running around my head all day but would like to keep original flywheel (I think) so that I can retain the 275mm clutch etc etc trying to find parts up this way is so hard..
