    Something is wrong there.

What is the exhaust A/R ? And idle don't sound high? I don't have a tachometer but I set idle by ear and how much the gearstick vibrates...when I had fast idle and stupidly small turbo I idled at 2-3psi

I think I mentioned in the first post its a T28 with AR 60 on the air side and .64 cast into the exhaust side.
I will jam a stick on the pedal and check for leaks.
I was thinking last night the join between two pipes I have just before the inlet is like an exhaust join with an expanded end slipped over the other pipe and an exhaust clamp compressing the slots. Perhaps its leaking there. I wonder how much of a leak it takes?

It's very difficult for a diesel to produce any boost with no load. Just free-revving mine I can get 8psi, but I'm running a tighter exhaust housing than you (0.49 A/R).

Get it zipped up and take it for a drive.

Really. The psi at idle or max? It idles a bit faster than previously so to reduce vibration exterenced at lower idling revs.

Well that was interesting. Had not seen that info posted before but took it for a short drive. Coming up to 100k,s about 2200rpm and just peaking 14psi with foot flat. Blue light on the Auber but I dont know what its set at. Still have to figure out how to change from F to C.
    Might be worth persevering with.
Still have to put the rest of the exhaust on yet.

    That's promising.

From here your boost will be limited either by exhaust heat (fuel) or the wastegate. You'll work out which when you drive it and watch the EGT's.

I don't see how you can be making 5 psi at idle with no load, no mater how high the idle is set.

Ta Ben. Any idea where I should start looking at a fault or a way to cross check measurement?

Sorry for hijack Keith but it might be relevant to you.

With a turbo such as Dougal's it is achievable however with the size turbos most have it is highly unlikely unless the gauge is incorrect...In regards to free reving I could also get around 8-10Psi
