This may not be your problem, but I found after rebuilding my LR gearbox I had to fiddle with the selector fork positions after installing it in the vehicle to get it right. Was a PITA but eventually got it to stay in gear. I installed heavier springs in the synchros except 1st/2nd, and on this synchro it's hard to pick the point where the hub is being held in its correct place. Good luck.
