Hopefully that is all it was, road was a bit busy to have a good run
Can anyone explain in "diesel for dummies" terms whats actually going on here?
I'd always thought that more fuel (as long as you had enough air/boost to burn it) equated to more power/torque. Feels like I've missed something fundamental now...

I agree with Steve. I don't get it either.
A basic lesson on tuning of or calibrating diesel pumps is obviously needed. Please.
    Thanks,
    Phil.

will only talk in private because of that, i only contacted Vern because it was frustrating seeing someone lead up the garden path.

Yes enough fuel and burning it cleanly will produce the power. It just depends where that power is going.
If you have airflow restrictions then huge amounts of power will be used to blow/suck against those restrictions, which reduces crank power.
If you have timing too far advanced or retarded then significant amounts more power can be lost as heat through the cooling system or exhaust instead of pushing pistons.

I don't know what's going on with the fuel adjustment up and down. But I suspect something got hung up internally in the governor.

I'd like to hear from Vern after a slightly more extended run, and maybe with his intended towing load, to knowing that he is truly happy with performance after the adjustment.

85 county, I'd be happy to be PMed your information.

keep it to the topic guys, getting personal is not helping anyone and will just result in posts being deleted.

    Cheers Ean
