It's a 4JB? They came with either timing gears (rodeo) or timing belt (yours).

The model with timing belt makes a little more power/torque in stock form.

4JB are a great series of engine, but be careful about overheating (A bit hard in a place where the sun doesn't come out much..) and overboosting/ fuelling/ high EGT's.

That is a factory blowoff valve, IIRC they activate at around 15 to 18 psi? If so, a boost gauge as mentioned should be immediate fitment. You could have a stuck wastegate which will cause overboosting.

These fuel injection pumps also are adjustable much the same as the Tdi ones. I have done quite a few of these on 4JB1T engines in our local vehicles and it makes good improvements.

    Thank you very much!
I take it overboosting would cause black smoke and the blowoff valve opening lol.

Ok, I think the wastegate actuator may be stuck, cant move it at all, is there any way I can free it up?

Did you try and lever it away from the actual diaphragm housing? Thediapragm pushes the rod under boost pressure. I would try repeated spraying with penetrant and levering and see what happens.
