I cant find a filter thats shaped like a greek god anywhere.
I think dobbo was referring to Priapus.

Maybe Augeus is a better fit. I have seen your shed.

Something I experienced some years ago with my Isuzu was the mesh sock on the bottom of the fuel tank pickup clogging up with lint and paint flakes etc. It started doing the same as yours and at 100k would die, get it going again and it would run ok at 80 but as soon as you got past 85 it would starve (and hunt). I did the elimination trail,1.sedimenter,2.engine filter,3.fuel pump strainer. When i went through all these I decided it must have been in the tank so I dropped it and found the sock clogged up. I removed the sock completely (tore it off) so that now the fuel sedimenter can filter all the rubbish and be easily changed. Its a time comsuming job removing/replacing the tank. Hope this helps...Bearman

Inc, back on topic... Your problem may be that the hand priming pump seals are worn - as you mentioned.

Once, my primer pump rattled loose and popped up to the hand priming position. I could drive about 500m before it started coughing and spluttering. It took me ages to notice it had popped up...

Priapus was generally represented as a big p---k, not a man with a big p---k. I think the traditional representation is what dobbo was referring to.

Athena is not a good fit. You would look terrible in white dresses. Could be popular in the steward's mess though.
