Hi Blythe!
I have an adapter kit here for the ZF to Isuzu 4BD1, BUT, and here is the BUT, I took it out of my vehicle due to 3 trans failures caused I am certain by excessive torsional vibrations and the immense torque fairly tore off the lock up clutch liningTwice
The only way I would do this conversion again is to use a 4HP24EH from a p38a, and utilise a Compushift trans computer to make it shift gears etc at the right moments. The 4HP24 is a fair bit tougher and has a huge converter/ lock up clutch.
I would urge you to think of possibly using a TF727 or a C6 etc but they are only 3spd boxes, so gearing could be an issue unless you are running big tyres like 35"s
The other issue is you would be advised to do a body lift of at least 50mm, as the 4BD1 sits very high in the engine bay and the rocker cover will need to be removed from time to time...
Also, turboing it is a must. The torque gains are significant and make all the hills flat
Give me a call if you want, 0408 995 635
