Good job there Murray!! Galv is just right for these vehicles especially those with cappings ie series and early county. Can't believe the heritage hasn't got galv capping and the rear plates like a series.... big oversight IMO.

Those rear bumperettes look great how much would they and the bull bar set me back in gal for a 109" SIII and for postage to Morayfield (just north of Brisbane)?

    Thanks

The bumperettes are only made to fit Defenders. It's possible they could be fitted to a SIII, but it might mean drilling new holes through the chassis.

The bull bar is also designed for the Defender / County. It might be possible to fit the bar to a SIII, but I'd have to check the chassis dimensions, I've never checked to see if the chassis spacing etc is the same between Defenders and older Series models.

As for galvanising, it's a bit tricky to quote as the galvanisers have a minimum charge even for a small job. It works out best if I have a batch of stuff to do at the same time to bring the cost down. Also, they are not close to me so I have to courier the parts to and from them.

As a rough guide, the cost would be as follows.............

Hybrid non winch bar $1630 (Customising extra)
    Mulgo Bumperettes $390 + freight
    Galvanising Minimum $180
Freight to and from gal Approx $160
    Freight to Morayfield ~$432
    Total ~$2792+

Thanks Murray for posting the photos of the gal bar. I'm putting the pennies away now, because that bar (in black without running lights) is the bar for me.

    I will be in touch.

    Cheers,

I came across this great video review of Mark's Defender 90 in WA, featuring the Hybrid bar with the works.

For those with winches and spotlights on the Rijidij bar what winch will fit?
I have fyrlyts hanging down on my bar and am considering putting a winch on. from my measurements it looks like I have about 200mm in height available to the bottom of the lights. Most winch measurements for height are to the highest point which is not necessarily the height of the whole winch.

I've never had a winch before so am not familiar with the general dimensions and what may fit. I'm also not looking to spend a heap of $$$ as I only want to put on a cheapie to see how much I use it.

You'll find most winches will fit straight in to the bar, and it's usually pretty easy to find the actual dimensions online to make sure............

    Warn Winch Dimensions

    Ironman Winch Dimensions

    Runva Winch Dimensions

There are some winches that wont fit without modification, like the Warn 12xe which has a cooling air pump at one end making it quite long, or super HD winches which have a larger diameter body and would require the grille to be cut.
Any winch that wont fit is likely to be more than required on your average Defender, but most 'standard' winches will fit.
There are various locations for the control boxes between brands, so it does pay to check dimensions, pictures etc online if you want to fit other items in the same space.
