3 ton would let me tow my comp Rangy with it, 3.5 ton would make more sense and match the rest of the land rover towing capacities ( def, disco,RR etc)

Where did you get the repro plate from? Sounds like an easy way to increase the towing capacity...

Original owner's handbook says 4000 kg for my RRC. Also recently acquired a genuine LR towbar for it which has 4000 kg on the plate.

    cheers, DL

Well it was pit time for the 101 this morning, so gave it a good check over last night and every thing seemed ok.
However once it got to the pits on the trailer this morning, our old friend Lucas decided to play his usual tricks. A side light and a brake a brake light wouldn't work and the engine was only running on about 6 cylinders. Apparently they don't like ripped seats either ( they said I could swap it for one in my Defender if everything else was ok) They have given everything else a clean bill of health.
While the chap was doing the inspection another guy came over and said, I had one of these last week, just check the rims aren`t rubbing on the calliper . I had a bit of a chat with him about Stuees, and he had nothing but praise for the work Stu has done to his.
I explained mine was a little bit more straight from the battle field

Just got to sort the electrics and should be good for a retest.

Has any one got any paper work or documentation regarding the GVM. They reckon all the info they found shows the 101 as a 1 tonner, so have listed the aggregate as 2840kg ( tare on the weighbridge this morn was 1840kg)
Said they would up it if I can show documentation.

All in all not too disappointed.
