    youd be suprised what a healthy 200tdi/300tdi would do to an 88inch. I know of one conversion done, using a 200tdi/R380/LT230 and had the axles widened to coil width....according to the installer and owner it went VERY well...pulling up Henry Roberts drive(very steep climb up to Mt tamborine) in 3rd no worries

    Very common conversion in the UK 2 of mates had them..one had a 200tdi and one had a 300tdi..
    Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

    You'd be supprised how well a an 88'' series goes with a worked over 2.25 petrol motor.Mine could almost reach the tonne. Pat

    dont worry, I know a guy that back in the day had to make new pushrods out of dualium (sp) and balance his top end in his "hopped" up 2 1/4 that was as known for shocking mini coopers
