replacing the intercooler with a larger unit gets rid of this in many cases.. my td5 was a black smoker.. with a mild chip... and the new much larger intercooler has done away with all but a wisp of it...

Nice info drover is the water leak on the passenger side footwell? Mine leaks both sides onto feet but im used to it from other rovers! Personally I wouldn't buy another rover the last decent one made in my opinion was the county but anyhow im hessitant of doing any performance upgrades due to the fact the driveline hates what it has now 3rd rear diff and its even worse than the first 2 the window clips break all the time allowing the window to stay inside the door, hand brake leak, radio didn't play cd's (no biggie),panhard rod came loose ( also no biggie),clutch/some sort of ting noise at idle and that's about it oh and the window buttons smoking from behind haha all these problems are not that bad just average things (just coming onto 1yr old and just over 40k on clock) the main issue is the diff which land rover still refuse my request (they provide a sailsbury and pay $746 which is what the current diff is worth and I make up the rest to purchase the sailsbury) answer from LR australia was NO it will not then be genuine for that model pffft my answer "no it wont but it will be stronger and you won't see me again" (they also replied what is a sailsbury ?
Anyways that's my 2 bobs worth

Ps: would love to take all the luxuries of the puma and put in my county so then theres power and comfort

    Hey Drover,

I've got a Allisport intercooler to fit to my 08 Puma and was wondering what is the trick to get the latch panel out ? The studs stop the latch panel from just sliding up, are they removed from one side from inside ?

Have you any tips on the best way to install the intercooler ? I looked at
the 2010.06_Defender_MY07_on_Workshop_Manual_Complete. pdf manual but it seems a bit different to mine.

    Any help appreciated.

    Hey Dirk,

Yeah I got the clues but it's not pretty😳

Tape a long handles screwdriver up, so you don't scratch the paint. Push it between the radiator support panel and mudguard, what ever side, and lever across until the support panel clears the the captured bolts. Lift support panel out.

Seem nasty, but after the best part on an hour, dismantling. Head lights and grill you find an way the achieves your goal.

You will surprised how easy and how far the guard will flex out ways.

    Cheers
