Hello Sue
Said the bloke in the little green ute, who on weekends drives his Defender.
Surprised you in Geebung this morning.

i love the wave :) and i always wave to other landie owners when i drive past, not sure they see me half the time as i cannot get window down fast whilst driving as only got the one hand to use, and its a long way to the buttons, so if anyone ever drives past me, i DO wave, i really do :)
That was just awesome!!! Great timing! And it totally made not only my day but also the workmate who I was picking up (due to the rain we had just had) as I explained to her how Defenders drivers were a friendly lot and always waved at each other... of course we got to work and she was so excited and couldn't wait to tell everyone about the 'Defender tradition'...
Thank you.. :)
I have the same problem.. my windows are also tinted with what I suspect is a 'slightly illegal darkness'.. and I'm always trying to get the window down in time to at least stick my fingers out and 'wiggle' so people know I haven't ignored them.. the bonus is that doing it this way you soon get very adept at spotting Defenders on the road.. I reckon I can spot one now at 900 metres with one eye closed and the other on traffic..
My Deefa is a weekender and I dont always get the wave on the highway as there is often too many lanes between me the other one on the other side of the M1. So not everyone sees each other.
I always see more during the week when I'm in my work ute and when I wave I get strange looks. At least I wave.
Even think I waved at Sue once near the IGA at Yatala along Peachy Road, one like it anyway.
I get a great kick of doing the wave and getting them back.
I'm pretty sure I've seen the silver F350 (coming out of the workplace on the corner?..) because I used to drive a F250 and usually admire them when I pass one.. Is the 110 on the same road as the shops? I'll keep an eye out for the others too so keep on waving lol :)
Boomer lives on a small acerage at Gaven near Pacific Pines, when I'm up your way I'm either at Hanson, Holcim or Boral Quarry drilling holes to blow a bit more of the hill up from all sides:D My mate is in the F350 more than me now and all the gear and utes are based at Nerang. I'm there all this week in the Bravo after that who knows, I move around a bit. There is a bunch of us at Numinbah this weekend camping, GCLRO if you feel like a day trip to meet some more Deefa owners. Loading Boomer now and waiting for SHMBO to get out of bed. Deatils on the other site.
Just thought i would add my bit about this whole waving thing. Having had my Defender since January i am happy to so that every Defender i have seen in Perth, both new and have, have given me a wave. I now look forward to when i see another Defender to i can share a wave with a person similarly minded to my self, with a special appreciation for the car. Owners of other Land Rovers models however are a different story, with not one wave initiation (LOL :p) or response.
