Maybe its 'Run out... to the pub' after they get the extra 5 large out of you.

    Good luck.

Yes I was wondering about something like this.

Also, side protectors, a bullbar and some chequerplate shouldn't come to over 5 large by my calculations - unless the bullbar is made of titanium.

If you were to ask me to think about this Run Out Pack for more than 10 seconds, I'd take a reasonable bet that JLR have excess stock of optional extras that they will never sell after the model ends. The result is they are adding it as a compulsory upgrade to the basic pack.

But that would only be my guess and I'm not really a betting person.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Dodgy

I placed my order on Aug 20 and there was no mention of a runout pack.
In fact the order I placed replaced an order previously held(by another buyer) and I amended it by going basic i.e Cloth seats, steel rims and little else. So there really was some motivation for them to try and stitch me up....so to speak.
If you have any issues give Austral Landrover in Brisbane a call 1300852162 and have a chat with them.
They have been great, only issue is I tried to press them into having it delivered in time for my B'day(21/2) and they just chuckled.

If this is the service they offer you when trying to buy I weep for the future when you have it serviced.

    Good Luck.

Pretty easy, when you tell them the "run out pack deal" isnt the contractually binding deal, have an email ready to send on your smartphone advising Consumer Affairs and MTA of the dealership behaviour.
Have the Dealer Pricipal cc'd as well.
Advise the new deal is now the "runout pack" at the original agreed price.

Dont say another word. The first to speak loses.

Anything other than what you asked for is responded to by showing the dealer you pressing "send".
You will get your original deal or better.

Ask for the specifics in writing including details of the bullbar etc to make sure they are talking about extras fitted in the factory and not at the dealer.

I'm guessing if it is legit that you've signed a contract for a vehicle in a specific spec but if Land Rover are not making that spec I'm not sure what you can do other than see if you can negotiate with the dealer for the vehicle to be supplied at the price on the contract.

On the contrary, I'd be turning it back on them and very firmly arguing for a discount.

Either the dealer stuffed up when ordering and they're trying to cover for it, or they're trying to palm off a vehicle ordered by someone else and not sold. Is it even the same colour as you ordered?

I'm not a lawyer but I would argue that if you signed a contract for a certain vehicle, with certain specs, at a certain price, any extras should be at dealers expense. ...If you accept the vehicle at all that is. Bullbar and side protectors are easy to remove by the dealer. Checker plate a problem if you don't want it.

Sounds like you know how to play hardball.
These dealers are the only ones in the vicinity, and I have this vision of three years of servicing hell if I turn them all against me over this. I'd rather not drive a couple of hours to get serviced by the next-nearest dealer, but how they respond next will determine if I turn a bit feral.

That bit about where the bullbar is fitted is a good idea - cheers.
