The flip side of going else where is letting the dealer get away with it and some other poor bugger going thru the same thing.
Sure its not your job alone to change their way's, but you can certainly push the limit and make them realise they cant treat people this way.
Just a thought.
Cheers ean
I think you are actually right, but I also think of that fable about the scorpion asking the frog to carry it across the river.
And also about leopards not changing their spots.
I gather from comments on here that this mob can be hit or miss. I'd rather be missed than hit ;-)
There is precedence for this assuming its an honest mistake and the solicitor is correct about the contract, the increase for stat costs is to cover things like the GVT putting up rego rates... if the only way they can meet the contract date is to provide you with the vehicle with the upgrade pack you can accept that, however
the build state must be at the minimum of what you want and not impede any of your requirements of the vehicle. b
they cannot increase the cost of the vehicle.
IF there is something about it upon delivery that is not to your satisfaction then they have the requirement to compensate you for that OR within a reasonable time frame conduct the works required to rectify the discrepnencies you are not satisfied with/restore the vehicle to its specified build state.
basically their stuff up means you get a free runout pack if you're happy to accept it.
best of luck

If you've benefited from one or more of my posts please remember, your taxes paid for my skill sets, I'm just trying to make sure you get your monies worth.
If you think you're in front on the deal, pay it forwards.
I can't see this being correct. I have not seen or heard of a run out pack for the Defender. If there was one it would be advertised.
It would be fair to say that LRA have a large amount of Defender accessories, but since when did they ever decide to have run out packs just to reduce stock? As far as I am aware the Genuine Defender Bull bar was specific to Australia, so the UK factory would not have any. The price of $5500 is more or less what you would pay for all those bits anyway so hardly a great saving.
I was going to order my new 90 over 4 moths ago, but only did it yesterday, deals done now and I got the last slot for NSW, up until last week the dealer had 3 build slots left, once gone thats it. Due date end of Feb 2016.
No mention of the run out pack. The only thing I can think is that LRA may have bought in internal stock order and have added these parts, maybe to offer to those who can no longer buy from the UK>
While on the one hand I agree that voting with your feet is the best option for you El Ray, I would still like to see this Dealers deception bite him on the bum.
Cheers, Billy.
Keeping it simple is complicated.
Hi El Ray,
I ordered a new Defender two weeks ago from MLR and they still had three build spots available back then. Maybe you should call them to see if they have any left and then turn around and tell your shonky dealer Gordon ****as (The Big Steal - classic Australian movie) where to stick his upgrade pack?
Once you hopefully secure another spot, then you can rattle the saber a bit more without fear of missing out on your vehicle. Then call A Current Affair and get them to do a story on it with your wife and kids standing out the front of the dealership with sad looks on your faces and cry on cue. Legal pathways are expensive, I find revenge to be quite cheap if tactful!
There's always carsales as well. Plenty of demos on there at the moment in various colour combos, and you won't have to wait for one to be built. What specs are you going for?
I'd be grabbing Defender Bens option above. Order another one elsewhere if you can.
