I have great success by using a similar system.

I have a ram head filter from Uni filter 024322200 (Gosford) buy direct from them before they oil it than soak it with baby oil (no breathing impurities ) and wash with soap and water .,you will be amazed how much it catches .P1120355.jpg

make sure you run the cabin fan with fresh air selected on 2or3 to pressure the cabin

Baby oil - brilliant. Have been thinking about how to add a foam filter underneath the snowcowl, but the filter oil was the stumbling block. That's another project added to the list.

Why is that the more things you do to your Defender, the longer the list of unfinished projects gets?

    Cheers,
    Jon

Thats a key thing.... My 2013 model TDCi had a large gap between the fresh air duct and the blower unit in the engine bay. The face where the duct and blower unit are supposed to mate - they didn't. They misalign by about 15mm leaving a largish gap down the inside edge. Hard to see but I could slide a finger into the gap easily.

Complained to LR under warranty - they attempted a fix but its a real bodge job which makes me think that perhaps the fault (misalignment) may be on lots of other TDCi's. I wonder if a few other TDCi owners could check if they have the same issue. (?)

Yeah, my thought are what you've written...

It will bottom out and reduce its flow capacity.

Your external one is easier, more efficient and you can visually check it What did you do to your Puma today?

I rang Unifilter this afternoon and they were most insistent that they don't supply their socks without being pre oiled. The nice lady suggested washing out with turps and then soap and water.

Power to my left Gull Wing box

I added power into my left hand Gull Wing box today, so I can power gear on the table as well as run my solar into the accessory battery via the Anderson plug. I can also monitor the battery level via the volt display.
It's a 20 Amp cable, fused into the accessory battery fuse box with a 15 Amp fuse, and also has a 15 Amp circuit breaker at the outlet.
I mounted the two colour Korr LED bar with my favourite industrial 3M Dual lock, so I can move it around my camp area. I have an extension for the light, and it also has a dimmer.
    Happy with this mod.
