SubscriberMines a 2.4 but I would imagine it would be in the same place (but I could be very wrong). There's quite a few posts about it. I pulled out the drivers side front speaker to get at it. If you look straight up you will see a green box with two harnesses attached to it. I think the remote aerial was the top wire in the upper harness (I wasn't paying too much attention). It is an orange wire with a grey stripe, about 6-7 inches long with the last 5mm (sorry, mixing imperial and metric) stripped to expose the wire. I just stripped it back a little bit more and soldered another metre and a bit of wire to it, then fed it up the A pillar and into the roof. Works a treat.

SubscriberI got mine secondhand off eBay for $15. There are a lot advertised there but most are a lot more expensive and all the ones I saw were used (unless you want to pay silly money). Mudstuff do a brand new one for £31 (about $54) but you have to add postage to that. The one I have is: no. 99 vw golf intermittent wash wiper relay 357 955 531.

Sorry Ken but my curiosity is what has lead me to asking this question:
What does your vehicle owe you so far?
It's so well setup and I'd like to know a ball park figure is if you don't mind sharing, if not all good as its really none of my business

By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

Fitted a ARB twin compressor (CKMTA12) in the drivers seat box.MY11 Defender 90. Apart from tidying up existing cables/looms/relays, nothing needed moving to fit it here.

I had to change the 30 amp fuse to my caravan brakes and power yesterday, on the road just Nth of St George, QLD, after my good mate fried it, with a make shift Anderson plug consisting of two bolts to his Dads 40 year old charger. He then proceeded to reverse the charger cables frying my fuse which of course is in the battery box, with Recaros bolted above.
I took the opportunity to rotate my two Recaros, to even out the wear.
Luckily I carry suitable large fuses as well.
Job done and it's nice to have brakes back on the van for my Tassy trip.
