It appears that on balance the 150 tune with up-rated intercooler, combined with backing off/dropping back to 5th or 4th on long hills is the way to go. Preferably also install a straight through exhaust deleting 1st muffler, a snorkel for cooler cleaner air intake and an EGT gauge to be on the safe side.
In lieu of going to the expense of installing an EGT gauge, whilst not as accurate, would keeping an eye on the engine temp with an Ultragauge with an alarm set also be a way to monitor safe engine temps?
