    Jeez you lot!

Swapping a TD5 for a V8 would be like pulling a Ferrari motor and replacing it with a Model T motor.

You'd destroy the resale, use more fuel, go slower, pay 8/5th more for repairs (yep, more cylinders! ) and all of that stinky farty pollution would mean that you'd never get engineering approval.

soooo, now which V8 drivers going to get all sensitive this time.
    Cheers

You'd improve the resale, use more fuel, go like the clappers, pay 1/10th for repairs and all of that stinky farty diesel pollution would mean that you'd never get engineering approval.
    Spot on!

    Well done that man

Perhaps, but then could we be talking Cummins 600hp diesel in that case. I call that the Cummins TD5.
