I know after this post this I will awaken the god of door latches, but I have never had this occur.
Been driving defenders for 8 years and not even a tickle.....
I thought it was 'cause the Def90 has girly side steps but previous 110 had 2 inch lift and no side steps.....
As mentioned earlier, I think it is all in the entry technique. I tend to put my left foot on the floor then stand almost vertical before uncermoniously lowering my bum in... (Sounds funny when you try and describe it)
You guys must really shake your tail feather!

Three times in three weeks recently. Being a bit on the short side, now I basically take a leap at the steering wheel and duck my head going in. No more trouble with my pants, but it's only a matter of time before I crack my skull on the screen (or catch my fly on the steering wheel).
This seems to be a very serious matter so in an attempt to assit my fellow Aulroians I have undertaken a very indepth study of the matter and I think I have deduced a satisfactory solution to the problem........You know how some people like to take their shoes off when driving.......well................![]()
You might tear yourself a new one![]()
So, if you buy a Landcruiser Sahara you will probably loose your shirt with depreciation, but if you buy a Defender you will almost certainly loose your shorts...maybe many pairs![]()
 2005 Defender 110
Hi there.....
Been there done that as well.......
When the Defenders were first brought into the Fire Service - it was the biggest fault & saftey issue reported on any vehiclee within the fleet....................VERY SERIOUS POST.........
I dont know if its just me (i hope not) but i have just torn my 6th set of pants after they catch on the door lock when i jump into my defender.
is this a common problem and how do i stop doing it, they seem to catch on the belt loop or Pocket
To the extent we still have a few in service but the SA light Fire Service of vehicles are now all TOYOTA........
