Three Sargent Majors, American, British and Aussie are talking about who has the toughest soldiers,
The American says "we have the toughest by far" and calls a young Private over orders him to put his kit on and jump out of a tree. The privates without question grabs his gear climbs up the tree and jumps, breaking both legs. The American says " now that's tough!".
The British Sargent Major laughs saying "that's not tough, this is tough" and calls over one of his privates. "Sir". He orders the private to get his full pack, kit and a machine gun, run 11 miles and jump off a building. So the private grabs his stuff legs it off on the run comes back and makes the jump. Breaking nearly every bone in his body with some internal bleeding! The British Sargent Major scoffs "now that's tough!"
The Aussie Sargent Major looks at them both and calls a digger over. "hey mate" he calls. He orders the digger to grab all his gear, run 15 miles, do 100 push-ups and jump off a 2 storey building. The digger looks at him, looks at his gear, looks at the building then looks back at the Sargent Major..................... He raises an eyebrow and bellows, "GET ***KED!, I'm going to the boozer" and walks off. The Aussie Sargent Major looks at the other two and says "now that's tough!, I'm going to the boozer".

Yes Mrs HH, I had a good chat with hiline and B92BNW (or whatever his user name is :D) and a few others one night.

yep was just there and sure enough it wouldn't recognise me either so is there something we are not doing right sleepy??
Mrs hh:angel:
Sleepy
7th February 2010, 06:46 PM
Yes Mrs HH I can get it to work.
It is a java applet (I think that is some kind of small fruit from Indonesia:angel:)
What we need INC to do is have a little indicator of how many in the CHAT
ie CHAT (2 online) or similar - then you could pop in for a look.
Then again, there are plenty other spots on the WWW for live chatting. INC probably doesn't need the hassle or drain on resources.

Yep! We wanted something that could do some serious off road touring and this fits the bill perfectly. 4 litre turbo Perkins, 2X105 litre tanks, 80 litre water tank, Spicer gearbox, Dana axle assemblys, 12000lb WARN winch and 305/70R19.5 wheels. And most of that's standard. Have got LSD's to fit front and rear so that I can now get bogged really properly. And the best bit..............................only two electronic devices in the whole vehicle, the radio and the speedo.:)

They were made in Perth.Perkins turbo diesel and Dana running gear.Originally ran 9.00x16 tyres, but went to a larger diameter rim later when the 9.00 tyres became hard to buy in WA.
They were popular with mining exploration companies, minesite transport and off-road tourist coaches. The bodies were all modular, ranged from single cab, dual cab, triple cab,bus and ambulance bodies.
Shame they are not still made.
Very tough, biggest problem was they were a tad overweight.

It looks abit like a Blackpool built Podmore Grumpy 1.2 ltr 4x4 convertable unit, which in five minutes can be converted from a fish and chip van to a moblie toilet block or caravan and even a mobile cinema other options in there broshure are easi clean wheels, AM/LW radio cassette with one speaker which doubles as a PA system when being used as a nosey parker gov snooper vehicle, sealed beam torch and belt hook.

Yep. We're members and all.
The new NT model has a V8 Cummins which meets the current Euro 3 standards with an Allison auto on the back. OKA had a bit of trouble with the upgraded axles the sourced from Europe somewhere. Dunno why they didn't keep the Dana's. The version we have is called a multi-cab, double bed fits in lengthways in the cab. Also come in tray, single cab and bus variants. You should see the transfer case, no kidding its bigger than a VW engine and is made by a Vickers offshoot for an armoured car. Certainly one tough 4WD.

Andrew
Pretty right but they are still being made. Tare weight varies with configuration, anything from 3.5 tonne up, I think, with a GVM of 5500.
Drove ours back from Sydney VFL Grand Final weekend, rotten weather and got 13.5l/100Km which I didn't think was too bad. 100Km/hr is about 2100rpm in 5th gear.
Mine cost under $30K, had no off road work and has done 160,000Km only.

evenin all,I bet you two weren't out in a Grindle Gaddabout MK3 from the small secret car co., built in a box room in Watford Hertfordshire, most were painted either emulsion white or cream depending on which room in the house had just been decorated, powered by a Mobelette 49cc moped engine(Mr Grindle,'Perce' to close friends and customers of long standing)had a shed full of these from when he worked at Granby Motors who were the sole importers,(and paid him sometimes in these engines)he told me about the deluxe model were he left the pedals on for driver comfort.
Perce(as he said I could call him)once drove Mrs Grindle to High Wycombe and back in one week in the early 50's,quite a feat as he could'nt drive and Mrs Grindle was terrified of swift travel of any sort, preferring to hop(not on a bus but just to hop about) when going about her household duties this included collecting 5 gal drums of Castrol R30 from Luton.

Sponge baths and ice boxes. This sounds like a hospital I attended when I got my elective surgery. I had the fat of the king of rock strategically injected into my body. I am a very attractive man and my wife would get jealous when female strangers asked for my number. One woman even tried to hump my leg in Sydney's Flemington Markets. I felt used and dirty. My wife and saviour hit her wife a dodgy Kebab, my attacker ran through the crowd squealing and yelping like a scorned banshy.
