Road should look good for ever I HOPE!!!!
The 2km before it we did last year still looks great.
Shame is now its sealed there will be some serious accidents out there. There already plenty along there, one of the reasons why we get government grants to upgrade the road.Problem is those bends are very sharp,I drove the road at 110ks,it feels good and the urge is to go harder. We have left the 50kmh signs on the bends.
On last years section we got our first victim the night before the job was sealed.

Did take a few of the grader but operator error means they didnt make it into the camera, same with the old homestead.
Saw some pics of the new Komatsu Grader today. In cab view is outstanding, very few blind spots.

White lines, either solid or broken.:p
Are they getting a Komatsu 14'er, or Volvo?

LandyAndy
27th February 2010, 11:04 PM
Hi Ian
Makes sense to stick with Volvo.
The old Cat 12H is going.Getting another Volvo grader would mean 2 vulva graders and a digger. The loader goes next year,JCB been a useless toy since new. Also talking Volvo there.
CJD Equipment look after us really well (NONE of the other suppliers come within cooee)plus when you are paying them travel to service their gear it works out cheaper when they are servicing multiple units at once.
Will be going to the demo days coming up for all the major grader suppliers with the boss :cool::cool::cool: Looking forward to a "Steer" of the new M series Cats!!!!

I went to do a movment on a newish Komatsu years back, when the Asian machines were becoming popular. I had never plonked my bum in anything that complex or clever before. All I could do was slew it, I had to phone the dealer to find out how to make it walk. :D:D:D

There is no steering wheel or levers in them. All done by 2 joysticks.
I dont wear the seatbelt, its too darn uncomfortable.I get the impression if you hit a stump or big rock in one of these old fatguts Andy dissapers out the front window with a joystick in each hand:D:D:D:D:D

That would be interesting Ian!!!!!
Would be sinking the blade and rippers pretty quick!!!
A while back the digger driver was loading sand and his perch gaveway. All that was stopping him from topling over was him resting the bucket in the loaded semi trailer.Truck steerer didnt get much of a pleasant reply over the 2way when he pointed out the dirt had fallen from under his track:D:D:D:D:D
He managed to gather everything up with no damage to the gear.

Fortunately it dropped fairly flat but nose slightly front down, but it was still a hard landing after a 20' freefall.

Another 'interesting ' experience was an old Cat digger that I regularly moved. It had a dodgey right hand drive drive and would slew halfway onto the float. I had to load it in some steep country, so decided to point the truck down hill, saving the Cat a climb. Parked on grass and with no maxi s on the trailer, guess what happened.:o

Was actually impressed with the number of stalls, lots of old falcoon/holdoon/valitune bits for those chasing them.

Got home, read 3/4 of the Sunday Slimes and then my mate rocked up with the bike.

Im told with sharks to avoid the amonia taste.
Kill instantly, brain spike(Ikijimni) or cut thru from the gills thru the spine.
Cut tail off asap to bleed.
Gut immediately.
Onto Ice Slurry.
Most of the ammonia taint comes from the brown meat along the spine. The quicker the shark is cut up the less taint.Fins are optional.
Try it next time you get one.

Dont bother catching Marron any more.Season is too short, licence needed etc etc etc.
They are a freshwater crayfish as a yabbie is.Just a different breed. They taste MUCH better(sweeter) than a yappie.
If you do end up doing a Kimberly trip, try and catch some Cherrabin(freshwater prawns),they are NICE.

A lever he pushes forward. In one plane it works the accelerator, the other plane the brake pedal.

You think this site has problems:o Been trying to get on "phototoilet",sorry, bucket.;) Type in my user name, halfway through it pops up my name, then automatically puts up my password(dots) and press log in,tells me that i have used incorrect password:mad: Of course,me being my usual calm and ever patient self decide to cancel my account, can't,'cos you need to log on to do it:angel: Brilliant planning, hope that their bits get spider-webbed and then fed into a blender.:D
Delete or backspace the password out and type the correct password in.
