Not helpful I know for our Australian friends, does anyone know the legality of having adaptors over spacers, would they be classified as different enough to be accepted in Oz
They are 100% illegal in all states.

Why would you bother, A second hand set of D1 Mag or steel rims are much cheaper than the addaptors.

But has anyone wondered why they are illegal, it just seems to me such an obscure part of a vehicle, and very pedantic to single out such a mod and ban it, thousands of people in the UK run spacers as do I with no problems at all.

I know this is an old post.... but it did answer my question regarding the D1 vs D2 Stud Patterns being different, but I was wondering if anyone have put 17" rims onto their Disco TDi's ??

The reason I ask this is I have a spare set of 265/70/17 M/T's in the shed that I originally bought for our Prado.... but the thought was to see if I could buy a 17" rim for my D1 and use them on it.....

From observation nearly all Mags made have too small a central hub area to be able to drill the extra large PCD that D1 and RRC have.
    Good luck trying.
