Tyres, im not sure about. Rims i think yes, illegal. I know that insurance companies love 8" wide rims because they dont have to pay you out if you have them.
EDIT: and yes i am keeping my previous rims and tyres for that exact reason.
Yes, the offset difference is too great.
Be very careful with cheap body lifts, some do not include supports for all the hidden spots where the body sits on the chassis. I know of at least one member who has had to do a body swap or just scrap the vehicle as a result of body damage.

A 3" lift and the shocks will have next to no down travel left, not the best for balance offroad and the donut in the rear propshaft will not like it.
You will hear just as many bad things about terrafirma.
No matter the cost a body lift is a helluva lot of work. Plus legalities as others have mentioned.
Plenty of people have run that tyre size and rim combination without causing damage. IMO Get the flares as best you can, get the coils at 2" and then see what happens.

So i fitted some 50mm coil spacers today. Not really the path i wanted to go but i was given them so i thought why not give them a go.
This has lifted the guards a further 50mm away from the tyres on a flat surface and should also move them away similarly on flex.
Im looking into a new tough dog pan rod and some extended brake lines to in the near future.
P.S anyone got some of these switches lying around?

Not the best solution, as you said, but a good experiment before you outlay more $$
50 spacers + 30mm coils, well there is your 3" lift. Looks a bit high imo.
How is the ride? And more importantly how is the rubbing?

The ride is okay don't notice anything wrong with steering but havnt taken it on a good trip yet. Same with the rubbing. Going to take it out after work tonight nd give it a go.
Fingers crossed that all is good.

So after taking the rig off road to a spot i know that the tyres used to rub I'm pleased to say that they no longer hit the guards!
Its crazy close! In fact so close i think that with a 2" lift it would have hit things.
After driving it around for a bit the i have noticed that the steering is a little bit more sloppy by nothing that I'm to concerned about. New extended brake lines will be made to replace the old ones that are a little to short.
I still need to just trim this little section.
And modify this bracket flat.
But as you can see no rubbing.
And lots of flex.
