    Hi Eraser - thanks for re-posting as you have done.

    My D2 gets what your getting on the highway or a smidge better - manual. BUT the LPG only uses 5l/100k more per 100k. So when I compare LPG to petrol I would have to be getting 7-8 litres/100k in a petrol car to compare to my V8 on LPG...so thats a saving of about 7.5 litres per 100k which is of course more like $12 per 100k not $1.00 as you have stated. Now calculate that over a years driving and the savings are huge...if they were not huge for V8s there wouldnt be so many converted.

    Cheers

    or another way of looking at the comparo..

    21 l/100 k on LPG at .60c/litre = $12.60.100k;

    15.5l/100k on Petrol at $1.60 litre (prem) = $24.80/100k.

    The same comparo applies to highway journeys - 14l/100k petrol and 19.51/100k LPG.

    Cheers

    Your calcs make sense. I just used Jeep Boys figures as they were there. I guess it isnt fair to compare my hwy petrol useage to lpg city cycle. End of the day everyones gets what suits them. Im happy to run my disco on petrol. Ive even figured a way of getting an extra couple of hundred k's out of a tank on the hwy with our disco. Was pretty easy actually, just fitted a long range tank lol............................

    noticed I'm getting about the same as some of the "average" rates on here. Out of interest, has anyone had a chip done to improve consumption? I was offered this by Bruce Davis here in Sydney.

    I know this is a bit of a thread resurrection.. but..

    I've only had the 98 D1 V8i since last week, but have found it great on gas, I'm getting 26L/100km, and to anyone that is concerned about performance... well.. I have been surprised by it so far, never having driven a gas vehicle before, I wasn't sure what to expect, I was expecting the gas to be sluggish or in some way deficient as compared to Petrol, well unless the D1 has the greatest standard V8 ever produced I am impressed, the performance is what I expect from a V8, plenty of grunt, it gets up and boogies, and is very driveable.

    I'm so impressed I haven't even tried it on Petrol yet.

    Post update, after 1994, D1 was 89L.

    Pre update, before 1994, was I think 82L.
