well there can't be too much left to fix on it now, but then some cars should be painted lemon.
A close friend of mine is selling his GU which cost him 18K to buy and in 3 years about 25K to maintain. the gearbox has been out 3 times because the spiggot bush keeps flogging out. And as soon as he thinks everything is fixed something else goes.

    G'day chaps,

Ok well I went back to where I got the engine done and after a heated debate they are not going to look or fix the engine cause they think that I have played around with it and pushed her to hard when gone for a drive lol. So I'm looking at some options, one which I can't and won't say here lol, the other is to take it further!!

Thanks to you who told me to sleep on it and I'm going to keep her as I have spent a few dollars on her and it's our only family rig. I think it was more the stress talking when I posted this thread but some of you can imagine that it was getting real frustrating at times. Here's hoping that she will come out in the end and we can get out there and have some fun.

    Cheers Simon

Can I just say though...not trying to be cinical but to give you something to think about...

you have noted on here things that you have changed and adapted..i.e the gear box the lift pump etc etc...as this is a public forum if they found this you may not have a leg to stand on as they are suggesting that you have tinkered with car since taking the engine away...and although not a lot you have.

and the is writen proof that you have....

i still think they should be made accountable if the engine has not been right since you took it especially with the amount of dollars spent...

but you have made it more difficult as you didn't persist with them and took somethings upon your self...

would it be worth taking to another mechanic and having a report down and presenting them with it?
bit like what scallops suggested we do with the puma one time
Our Land Rover does not leak oil! it just marks its territory.......

MMMmmmmm i understand what your saying and agree hugely. Reason why i didnt and couldnt take it back to them is because i could not afford to do that and i know forsure that these guys dont just do things for free even though i did spend alot of dough there. while i changed minor things i dont think it would have an impact on the engine for the way its working as everything was a straight forward fit up. BUT i will see what happens with everything but i dont thing anything will as always. just dont seem to have much luck with landys at the moment.
