The ball join comes out of the middle of the ring which is then replaced with the poly bush.

Do you guys recon the 7100s are worth $200 extra above the normal Bilsteins from eshock not sure if these are long enough for the 3inch lift. They look awesome but are they that much better. Looking like il get free freight.

As for the 7100s being better than the standard Billies. Well I guess it depends on how far you are going to push them. Up to a certain point they are probably as good as each other (no evidence, just guessing) but then the 7100 will keep performing when the standard ones start to fail. The external reservoirs can dissipate far more heat. Then if you damage a standard shock, you need to buy a new pair (of shocks). All the parts of the 7100s are available as spares whether it be because you want to change the valving, body, shafts or you've managed to somehow break something.

A bit of an update.

I have replaced the sleeves for the 12mm - 1/2" bolts in the front once alread. I had a spare set because the Adapter plates on the bottom of the front shocks already have 1/2" bolts.

They have gone again so I ordered the Prothane bushes through E-Shocks. They didn't have them in stock when I ordered them on 24 October but I was willing to wait a bit. Then they were back ordered to E-Shocks which has made a bit long to wait. My last contact with E-Shocks, I asked if I could pay for some faster shipping but they said they will get them to me as quick as they can. I still haven't heard that they have been sent but I'm hoping so.

With the adapter plates on the bottom of the front shocks, they are too long in their closes length so you need to extend the bump stops to prevent the shock bottoming out and being destroyed.

The other and better fix IMHO is to fit taller shock towers. So I bought these:



Problem is the port for the external reservoir wont fit. Also the shock wont fit though the tower so the external reservoir needs to be disconnected which then means they need to be regassed. This is how I modified the tower for the port. They are plenty stronger than the standard so it shouldn't be a problem.

Someone asked before how you fit the new poly bushes.

So you remove the circlip visible here:



Then push, press or knock out with a socket like I did, the rose joint.



Interesting I lost a circlip from a rear shock and found the rose joint half out. It was slightly lose and easy to push back in by hand and then replace the circlip.

All 4 rose joints on these front shocks have taken some persuasion to get them out.

When I say the rose joint was lose in the rear shock, I mean it slid back in the eye of the shock easily. All 8 of my rose joints are still tight and very hard to move by hand if at all by hand. They do move with a little oil and a screw driver for leverage.
