    REA RH INDICATOR

    Morning All

    2002 TD5 2A

I have a problem that isn't straight forward - a Disco problem that is!

The rear right hand indicator has stopped working. I pulled off the light assy to change the bulb, looked at teh bulb removed - seemed fine. I installed a new bulb and it still doesnt work. The indications are the same as a failed bulb, the working indicators flash at double rate.

All the other lights work normall with no abnormal indications. I also checked the rear door wiper and the fog lights. Why? becuase they share a common earth. I also checked the fuse and that is fine as well.

I wiggled the wires at the accessable connections and no change.

Every thing appears to work normally, except the rear rh indicator. Last weekend of August I removed a fair bit of the rear interior but I only disconnected the electrical plug to the pump assembly.

I am suspecting a broken wire some where

Does the collective have any suggestions, solutions or wisdom?

    Thanks

    Hay Ewe

Multimeter is your friend! start at the rearmost plug and work forward (or the other way if so inclined) Find where the power stops and ya there! Well almost But yes those sorts of probs are really a process of elimination which you have started on.wiggling is not as good as pull plug apart and reseat after inspecting it for gremlins. Check the bulb socket carefully too, they sometimes appear oki but not seating, again multi meter is good as it can alert you of power levels too low to activate an incandescent bulb.

    X3 on the bulb socket.
Mine did the exact same thing except up the front.
The contact strip is supposed to be a nice, shiny, "S" shape, mine was a dirty, broken, corroded "C" shape.
Took me a few fuses to work it out
New ones cost something like $7 or something.
    Cheers
