Keys cut, little mod required inside casing (takes 5 seconds) and now they're good to go!

These are the screw together type.

I have the same one as tombie

It was a very Muppet-esque Job.
Mine also required trimming, my spring tabs broke, and for a while it was doing this.....

This is the piece you need to trim, I took about half of mine off before it cleared....

Finished article, spot my final stuff up

Because my spring required some.....re-shaping, mine doesn't 'flip' quite perfectly. I'll get another one and delegate this to a spare, but it should still work fine.
Just need to get it cut now

Sorry just so Im clear, you swap the internals straight into the new fob (as a straight replacement - no soldering etc) and then the coil around the ignition barrel picks up the proximity of the internals as you insert the key into the barrel and allows starting - so in other words after you swap the internals and get the key blank cut there is no difference at all between the original set up and the replacement on (except of course your key folds up in your pocket)?

Sometimes my lock sticks a little - graphite powder fixes as does a gentle wheel wobble, but having a solid key helps - how sturdy are the replacements?

    Cheers

So, bumping this thread to see how everyone's flip key fobs are holding up ?

Was going to order some new fobs until I saw this thread.
