Thanks. Can you please clarify if the approximate 15% includes GST or is GST additional?

I have 275000 KMs on my 2003 Disco 2 TD5 and whilst no issues with the transmission at this stage, I am planning for it should it happen.
I recently qot a quote, £725 exchange plus a £240 upgrade for the heavy duty converter. There will also be a deposit payable of £750 which would be refunded if I return the old core unit to them. The transport quote was £205 door to Melbourne airport or £390 door to door with TNT.
Are you in a position to advise how much the import duties were?
Ashcroft site states no case returns are accepted outside the UK, but I thought it was only £100 for a non exchange or so?

Includes the GST. So about 10% for GST and 5% for the customs fees etc.

So what ever price you get on the Ashcroft website, if it's over AUD $1,000.00 including freight, add 15% to budget for the Australian Government's cut...

I was under the impression it's only if the value of the goods itself is over $1000, pretty sure this topic has been done to death on here, a search should reveal some info.

The Stage 2 is a 22 with 24 pump and internals. You do need to be aware that there is some slight difference in stack height of the TC and the plates supporting the flex plate.

    GST and duties.

10% on goods + freight value
5% on goods + freight + GST total. You duties are on everything you pay before customs charge you. You can minimalise costs. Mine was shipped as a "kit" of auto, tfr housing & rebuild kit and other asstd parts. Went down to DHL as they tried to hit me up for a bunch of charges ($25- to send an email from one person to another to say paperwork was ready to be delivered. NFW), they said "what is it?" I said a kit as per the invoice. Gearbox casing (note casing), tfr casing and parts to build. No problem, invoice value $925- or something. Whatever was made up for me. As it was incomplete parts there was a different structure for duties and we had a discussion about their charges vs what fair trading would constitute as fair and reasonable. Ended up costing around $300-.
