I bought the EMS1, it will be mounted in the roof console near where the OEM sunroof switches mount.

Hey Muppet, what did you end up doing for mounting?

Looking at getting one very soon!

Still looking! I think realistically the mudpod is the only real option, I've built myself a low coolant alarm and I'll stick with that for now

Yeh i want to get egt and low coolant after a recent scare. Water leaking out that stupid screw on the radiator holding fan shroud!

I'm going to look into cutting up the ash tray. Alternatively, maybe next to the dash in the corner where my boost gauge currently is. But problem is... That's where my boost gauge is!

Mudpod I don't really consider an option. A bit too conspicuous for someone that often parks their car at the train station for the day.

I hate the mud pods to be honest. Convenient for sure, but I find them ugly and I like the open space of the dash.
But there's really not a lot of options in a d2.
I think with some careful remodelling and plastic work, you could remove the switch bank, swap over some bits from the switch bank to the wheel surround, move the switch bank over to the clock side, put the lock switch in the newly created space in the switch bank, leaving you with the switch bank and ashtray space to be modelled to hold the madman

That is the problem with our discos, no where to neatly put extra (irrelevant? ) goodies!
The thing with gauges is that they need to be seen easily, having to dip your head down to se them is distracting, which is really why the ugly as sin M/pod is used. However the switch bank and ashtray manouver will work ok.

That's why you get gauges with visual and audible alarms

The dash is right in front of people and many don't notice the lights/gauges on there until it's too late..

I will find a pic of mine. It currently is sitting in a stubby holder sitting on the right side of the dash cluster between it and the pillar. It looks dodgy but easy to read and doesn't clutter up the dash.
I was going to build my own pod and just clip it to the pillar using a phone mount-

I just never got around to it. I mainly did it because it was easy to get the wires to that spot. But works well for me as I use the center of the dash to windscreen mount an Ipad.

The EMS1 fits nicely in front of the console over the hi-Lo range sticker. Cables can then run neatly to the passenger side which is where you will feed all the wires from the engine bay. You can even hold in place with blu-tac as you have a nice smooth mounting surface (or double sided tape if you prefer).
