Part number is ERR6951
Easy job to do. Replacement part is as low as $30.00 for a pattern. Genuine is relatively expensive in comparison.
I have an non-rhythmic tapping or knocking sound coming from the serpentine belt area of the engine. After a good deal of time looking around with the engine running the noise seems to be associated with movement of the serpentine belt tensioner. At idle speed the tensioner pulley doesn't run smoothly all the time but has bouts of what i can only describe as jiggity behaviour. I'm tempted to replace the tensioner thinking that maybe the tensioning mechanism is failing - am i on the right path here..... 2000kms ago i had a new viscous fan coupling and hub bearing installed.

It may also be the idler puller bearing if fitted(non ACE).
If changing any of the idler/tensioner/hub bearings I always changed the lot.
Old ones into the back for the breakdown kit with a spare belt.
Try removing the belt and spinning each pulley up and listen for noises and feel for notchey bearings.
My brand new tensioner still seems to jiggle about as you describe!
They all jiggle about on idle AFAIK. Mine does even when brand new.
I would be looking closely at the harmonic balancer if you have noise as well.

Would the tensoiner cause a squeak on start up and shutdown? like the belt getting too loose and slipping if it isn't keeping it tight enough?
Mine vibrates a bit too but I cant get rid of the squeak!!
