Take it back to the mechanic and discuss. What did the mechanic service?
346,000km on the clock you would expect to spend some money on it. Better to get it right before you undertake such a large journey.
Best wishes

I wouldnt take it back to mech. He had it for about 6 weeks.
He couldnt have checked boost at all. If I take it back to Mech, it means we are stuck in Melbourne and goodness knows how long and how much he will take to fix it.
Yes it has done some k`s and I fully expected it to have some things that needed to be sorted. This is why I took it to him in the first place.
What I didn't expect was to drive away from his workshop and have problems from the get go.
I understand its an old car and that it has done some kms. That there will be things that need attention and he wouldn't pick them up at the time. But to have no boost, I wonder if he even put a diagnostics machine on it.
Pretty much ruined our holiday now.
I have a vehicle that I spent a considerable amount of money and we are far from home. Its causing me a lot strees
Ok, no boost, intercooler hoses are ok?
check this vaccum hose from the module to the steel part of intercooler hose. This is under the Air Flow Meter.
It can blow off, if so use a zip-tie on it. & check it for splits, you may need to replace if split.

You can bypass the boost modulator and connect it straight to the wastegate actuator and it should run normally but it will log a code in the ecu to do this take the hose from just behind the air flow meter and run one directly to the wastegate actuator

Thanks all.
I am going to try and limp to Newcastle. Got a friend up there and look more....
Although its probably running on the high side of normal temps, I think biggest problem is the oil leaks and No Boost.
Tried to the bypass and didnt help.
You can smell the oil burning.
The no boost I am hoping to fix in Newcastle and its not a big drama.
I am travelling along the coast, so I may even find a mechanic who knows about Land rovers....

I can recommend three LR specialists in Sydney:
The first you will come to is Graeme Cooper Automotive at St Peters.
The next would be Davis Performance Landys at Annangrove
Then KLR Automotive at South Windsor.
There are others but I have used these (although Coopers only once, they aren't local to me).

RIP Bucko - Riding on Forever
Hope its not the turbo, that would be another 2k or so plus fitting........
If it is, it should have been picked by mechanic. Plus I had a spare parts car, since sold......
It ran fine today apart from no boost after 2700 rpm or and little under that. I took real easy on it, sitting mostly on around 80 kms.
I am at foster tonight, I was hoping to avoid Sydney as much as possible.... Plus dont have a lot in the kitty for further repairs. Hopefully it will be an easy fix.
