What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

Past couple of days have been hearing a significant airflow/whooshing noise when turbo kicking in...thought I had leaky vents/drains and was picking up noise from the engine bay.

Then today coming back through the blue mountains from lithgow, foot flat to the floor and only doing 30km/h up the hill with black smoke pouring out.

Thought I'd blown a turbo, much swearing to be had.

Pulled over, opened the bonnet and noticed the hose from the intercooler to the turbo had a hole in it bigger than the one in the ozone layer above us.

10 minutes, a coke can, some duct tape and some more swear words and off I went again...everytime the turbo kicks in it sounds like a cat is being tortured, but it got me home!

****ing radiator shroud screw still leaking! :mad:

My radiator weep turned into a leak leaving puddles when i stop and park. Have 2 trips to Adelaide and a camping trip to Sea Lake in the next 2 weeks, so new radiator has jumped the que on the repair list and buggered the budget.:(

Drove up to a friends farm in Gingin today, had a little play off road on some serious climbs and WOW what a performer. Was going to have a go in his V8 but it wouldn't start. Shame that, would have liked to compare the two. Absolutely loving it.

Drove it to work, and spent two hours getting my land cruiser wagged by this...
The big V8 is nice though :D

Drove 300 ks to attend a funeral then 300 ks back home :cool:
Oh did i tell you how reliable and economical these Td5`s are :p

ordered another set of O2 sensors,,

and had a very reassuring conflab with Justin,,:cool:

Drove 70ks each way to the same funeral. ....gotta love the d2
