Rick your results are aligned with td5 drivers I have spoken to. It really puts into perspective those threads where people ask about petrol v diesel and you get the plethora of diesel owners bagging the v8 economy. Now some other makes diesels are more economical. I had a mate on the Cape York trip with me and his auto NM diesel Triton used 30 per cent less fuel on the 6000k trip than my 4.6. He had a roof road but no lift and stock highway tyres but still it was a lot less fuel usage.

When I first got mine we took it from the Dandenongs in Vic to Willunga in SA. Three adults, one big dog, all the associated luggage. No roof rack, no lift in those days, standard size A/Ts. Out through Melbourne, and all the way to the Adelaide hills, where we filled before driving down to Willunga. Exactly 700 Km, exactly 70 litres. The caveat, I filled it to first click at each end, and bowsers can differ, but I thought that was pretty good, travelling at an indicated 105 KM/h, or more when legal. I don't think the 4.0 Ford we have would do any better.

The car is chipped, old school by Ritters. Of course, around where I live it gets nothing like those figures.

Mate stock and new with no roof load doing just highway I wouldn't doubt 10l per 100k.

Same here, not sure how you'd get lower?? 8-9l/100?? Maybe remap??
I did notice after a waste gate tweak I was getting better results, but only minimal so could just be driving related?
More refills and results needed to be sure.

Both my Td5 and 4l VCT Ford return 10/100, for comparison, my V8 D1 returned 23mpg and over 160,000k+ wore one and a half sets of AT tyres and never required a pad change.

Interestingly, I think my new pads and rotors either need better bedding in or got fade coming down the Abercrombie the other day!
