Here's mine complete with leaks, rust and corrosion. Not an uncommon problem on these engines I'm told. The previous owner has put up with it for several 'years', topping up the coolant with water all this time. It took about 1/2 hour to remove the hoses and bypass the heater in the same way as bypassing a leaky heater core.

I assume this heater is to stop icing of the air inlet in cold climates ? Used to have a similar thing on some old Holden engines (ie. 186)
The chances of me going anywhere near snow, let alone in the Disco is precisely zero. [bigsmile1]

useful in the UK and Europe.
i bypassed mine a while ago.

I doubt that I will ever need the throttle body heated either But I simply cut off 1/2 an inch of the soft buggered hose from the end of the hose and fitted some better clamps.
It hasn't leaked since [thumbsupbig]

Mine wasn't that simple, the corrosion/leakage is obviously at the gasket not the hose. Looks pretty awful in close up. [bigsad] Next time I find one at the wreckers I'll grab the 'plenum input' casting to make it look a bit nicer. [bigsmile1]

The hose(s) is just a 90 degree loop across both spigots for aesthetic purposes [bigsmile1]

Dean, Land Rover I had a recall on those in the beginning, I remember the replacement ones had a yellow sticker that you stuck on the throttle body to prove it had been replaced, but the replacement ones leaked also. LOL.

Airbag Man helper springs installed. I used the high pressure variant (CR5026HP) which caused some drama getting the air bags into the springs but not too much. LOTS of drama removing the bolts at the bottom of the springs despite a load of Penetrene applied a couple of days ago. Took about three hours all up but it was easier than expected - I reckon about an hour was spent getting the bolts out on the drivers side. The HP sleeves make it a lot harder to get the bags into the springs but it's still doable. Hint. Leave them in the sun for a while, it makes them a lot more pliable.
End result after a quick test with the camper is that with no pressure in the bags it sags about 7cm. With 18PSI in the bags it only sags less than a centimetre. We'll see what happens when all of the impedimenta is loaded in the car and camper.

I am toying with doing the same thing with standard helper bags and I am interested to know if the comfort level is increased by using these helper bags.
Is there a noticeable improvement in the ride with these installed?

Installed the switch gear for the heated seats...pressed buttons and they work which is nice. Great for the back...

Replaced SLS valve block. Now to wait the 8 hrs to see if it's retaining its height. It should - new bags, new valve block...what could possible go wrong?

Hi John,

Just out of interest did the new valve block come with the hose locking nuts attached/screwed in??
Like the ones on new air bags??

Just a thought did you test with soapy spray around these connections?
