Finished putting in the LHF window regulator, and got the door card back on. I'll hang the old regulator up in the shed for a "rainy day" project, to replace the rollers.

Although when you come to think of it, the first one lasted nearly 20 years, so am I actually likely to need the reconditioned one? I guess if I label it, the kids might get something for it if they auction all my gear off after I cark it!

Next job is to flush the brake fluid, and replace rotors and pads. The list goes on!!

Never say never. My front 2 windows have been a continuing saga. Replaced the passenger one twice, and now ready to replace the drivers side one for the second time as well. Every time replaced with a second hand part. After this next one, I'm going new if I have to replace again (touch wood). I've become somewhat of an expert on door internals over the last couple years.

Yeah I get heaps of stuff with them (have watts linkage bushes on order).. It's usually when I am in a bind and have pulled the parts from local wrecks.

Went out to the D2 this morning and whilst approaching from the back I thought how clean the diff, rear bumper and rear door looked and that maybe my son had done what he promised he would do and had washed the D2. But no! as i got closer i noticed the rear window glass was all greasy IT"S DIESEL all over and under the rear end!!! What's going on? Fearing the worst i got down under the rear and was relieved to find that the fuel filter had developed a leak at the rolled edge seam - relieved because my son had bought a full set of fluid filters for a service this weekend and this leak could be an easy fix... here's hoping

    10 000 km

10000 km after leaving Perth, did my first on the road service in my uncle and aunts driveway in Canberra. Oil, filters, coolant (pro tip, after checking coolant level, make sure expansion tank cap is down tight.) greased unis, checked all the things, wheel rotation.

Energency ordered a new drivers door locking assembly from roverlord, arrived next day. But the problem seems to have fixed itself.... for now.

Think my 14 000 km old front left brake disc is a little munted too. Getting harsh shudder during gentle high speed (70-80kph) braking. Anyone fixed this problem by machining?

Traction control light goes on and off and on and stays on!! :-)

Just as well as the track was pretty extreme in Baw Baw National Park. Very loose shale type rock. One of the creek crossings had a very steep exit. The traction control went into overdrive when I put the foot down. The disco got up out of the creek, more than could be said for a Triton, that got stuck twice. I lost the passenger side rear mudflap but gained three friends These cars are pretty good at off road stuff. This is only my sixth trip off the black top.

Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

Considering the age of the design, and the known issues they have, they are actually staggeringly good.
