Before I had a Land Rover I did not have any torque wrenches. Now I have three.

    'Hard" Land Rover Trip.

I went on a LROCV 'Hard' trip today, as in you may suffer panel damage.
I'd like to thank Terra Firma for their rock sliders with tree bars for protecting the drivers side doors. I'd like to thank Mark, who jumped up and down on the tree sliders to that I could open the drivers door!!
Thanks to ARB for the winch bar, now with dents and Brit pat for the rear bar, which needa bit of a tweak.
I need two new mud guards, These are in the shed and a RHS rear bumper trim, and a passenger side door mirror, Which had electric cables going to the mirror. Heated mirrors?
In hind sight, removing the tow bar may be a good idea, although that could have added more gouges to the fuel tank. Pushing up the air helper springs could also be a good idea.
On the positive side, I got to use my winch to pull myself out of a bog hole. I am no longer a winch virgin!! yay!
The group had various Defenders, a Series 3, an Isuzu Parentie and a D4. I have to say, after watching the non Traction Control Defenders going up at it, the TC Disco at times just walked up the rocky slopes. (I think I need more TC fluid!!) At other times I had to reverse to find a better line. I had the lowest ground clearance, and yet at times had an easier time going up. The HDC was very helpful, with my slightly larger tyres, it seemed to kick in at about 5 kph.
Any ideas I had about fitting a Stalbus or Femco went right out the window.
The trip was at times quite vicious.

Flew back into the GC airport yesterday, jumped into the car and was greeted with the double act, the boys came out to play (yep, those three...) which isn't a biggy, but the dreaded M&S lights too...
It was stuck in 3rd gear. What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

Tried to clear it with the Nanocom but nope, so out came the tools, ECU out, terminals looked ok but I cleaned them, all back in and.
    M&S lights again.
Turned the engine off, restarted and no more lights!
    For the moment....

Had only been parked up for three days and the battery is new (six months old Delkor) but that does make sense as it did it about three weeks ago too.
I'll throw a multimeter in for next time.
[Edit] Nanocom can do that too, Ricardo!! What happened to your Discovery 2 today?
    Cheers.
