And my nanocom is dead....
It’s alive when I connect it to the computer...so to problem solve the power to the plug I suspect...

When I first got my D2 it did something very similar. After a bit of searching it ended up being the throttle potentiometer. I would have no throttle and it would just idle. I ended up buying a second hand one. But when I was taking the old one out I found that one of the bolts had completely come off and the other one was loose. I ended up putting the second hand one in and never had the problem again. Might be something to check.

I discovered that I had a boost leak from the inlet manifold at ports 1&5 when I removed it last month to soak it in degreaser as way to help remove 20 years of thick black gooey sludge build up. It’s now clean as a whistle inside and so today it was the perfect “rainy day” job to re-face the inlet flange surfaces so it is ready for re-installation.

Changed my front UJ from the front driveshaft today . what a PITA of a job.
I have a pretty new Hardy Spicer that I bought second hand some time ago, which was lucky as my OEM failed a couple of months ago.
However I have always worried that the front UJ has a stiff spot so I decided to replace it .
So today pulled it off and proceeded to remove the circlips and one was broken which is strange.
Anyway as soon as I removed the circlips the bloody UJ worked perfectly! So I decided to file a bit off the circlips and put it back together. Stiff spot again!
Thoroughly ****ed off now I said bugger it I will fit the new one.
Anyway fitted the new one with some difficulty as the last circlip did not want to drop in even with some hard hammer action. The new one is pretty stiff but at least is consistently stiff.
My theory is that the driveshaft yoke circlip slots are slightly out of position. I did clean them and the Yokes thoroughly.
I examined the UJ I removed and it seems perfect.
Sometimes with LRs you can work for hours and see little result for your efforts.

hi Phillip, careful if you cant get a circlip in, it could mean that a small needle roller has fallen in from the side of the cap they are held in place with production grease and settled in the base of the cap. this makes fitting the circlips difficult and make the uni firm and will cause failure.
No I am pretty sure that the rollers are in position. I have done that once which caused a great deal of swearing.Quote:

The rollers stuck up into the seals initially and I had to push them down individually into the caps. I also added a finger tip of grease before attempting to fit. The rollers are quite big so the cap would not have been able to be circliped no matter how hard you whacked. Anyway I will check it after a couple of weeks .
I have PMd you.
