I think also with the quick release connections, once they’re on then don’t touch them again, and if they do burst then they have to be replaced rather than just reconnected again.

Some years, but only 4000 k or so, ago, the push on connector let go about 500 k after the trans had been out. I guess it was disturbed. Yesterday the connector let go about 3000 k after the trans had been out. Once again, it had been disturbed.

I agree with Slunnie, it needs to be replaced, but it will still be difficult to trust it again. I will look for alternatives.

The reluctant trans is fine but the connector won’t stay on. Now to find a new one.

Yes, too slowly, no bow wave, with or without an apron equals high water in the engine compartment and the fan will be submerged and the fan straining and pulling water instead of air the blades will flex and be drawn towards the radiator core - they can dig in and stop the fan pulley turning [emoji37] the serpentine belt keeps moving though.

Happened to me at the Eaglevale Crossing coming out of Wonnagatta years ago.

Remove your radiator shroud and look to the bottom of the core and you might find that the fan blades have left their mark.

I now carry a viscous fan spanner set to remove my fan before my next deep crossing. Get them from Mario [emoji1417]

Thanks for the plug Rob, but I stopped manufacturing the hub nut and pulley retaining tools a while ago.

Get a hose mob to tig an AN fitting on the cooler and cooler lines. Then have a proper hose made.
You’ll never have the problem again.

Change to a P38 cooler if you wish at the same time for more cooling in the factory location.

Off with the LROCV at Erica over Easter. The highlight, was the drive along Deep Creek No1 Track. Very rocky, lots of steps and loose rock. I was glad not to be going up! But, at the bottom, after traveling along Scatabit Creek for about 20mm, we turned around and went back up. I went slowly, a steady pace, I had a fair bit of wheel spin, a bit of scrabbling and then I started to slip backwards. I increased the throttle and started to go up again. I got stopped on one of the steps and increased the throttle again, this got me over the step. A bit of a bounce and then throttled down to continue a steady climb.
Just about every trip I go on I get amazed by what the car is capable of doing, it just gets better.

Sounds fun.

And you are correct. The vehicles are often far more capable than the drivers.
Often the driver will back out long before the vehicle is approaching its limits.
Note that there are some exceptions [emoji41]
