That's the spirit. Just about everything I have done on the Disco, I have never done before! Not including fluids and service items those items are just easier with the practice.

Can say with the +50mm Dobinsons on the front, even before putting the Bilsteins in, the springs reduced the front end shock wave going over those speed bumps, made a quite a noticeable difference in fact. Just checked up when I bought them and it was back in back in March, they are $10 dearer now on Ebay..

No worries, good luck with the work. Sounds like you have plenty of muscle on hand.
I’ve always fancied buying an old transmission and rebuilding it myself, just to have at hand when the inevitable happens. I know they’re quite complex for a novice, but what’s the worst that could happen?
Looking forward to your upcoming reports.
Left front axle seal leaking since I got it, only on boot and ball joint, hadn't started spraying on tyre - done, finally.
Drained front diff, 900ml only came out, black then grey then red (trans ?) fluid, very stinky - refill was 1.9 litres
Rear diff bit more fluid 1.2 litres came out but black/grey and stinky too - refill 1.9 litres
Transfer case stinky and black, didn't measure what came out, just drained, refilled till it came out the filler and sealed it up.
Trans drained, stank and dark brown, I undid the filler first and it was above the hole so all down arm but had been sitting on stands for 3 days settling. Removed pan and replaced filter, surprisingly bugger all on magnet, just a fine slurry.
BUT the refill was 6.9 litres ! I filled from empty with engine off, took about 2 and a bit, ran motor and put through gears, got back under with engine idling and continued to pump/refill my little tom thumb litre bottle till it came out the filler then sealed.
I thought it only takes 4 litres wen you do a filter change coz rest is in donut, cooler and valve body, hence the run through of many litres if you want to do a complete flush ?
Engine oil done twice this year already due to engine work so this was third change and both filters too, has only done about 2000 k since I got it coz of all the little issues.
Dropped it off axle stands about 9pm then remembered I forgot to grease uni joints, one of the few things I like is that at some point all the joints have been replaced and have grease nipples.
Geez!
got into my d2 this morning and transmission jerky with rough changes, after towing caravan from Avoca Beach to Port Macquarie.
Thinking Oh **** until after about 500 meters realized I had put it in low ratio to back the caravan over the kerb at the caravan park.
Oh joy.

Son mentioned a 'clunking' sound on putting in gear.
I've been thinking about doing the front UJ's for a while and sure enough lots of movement so will drop the shaft and use as 2WD until I can get around to the repair.
Kudos to him for picking up something not quite right.
Not today, but yesterday. Finally refurbished the XYZ switch and installed a relay. So I have reverse lights again!
Also did the rocker cover gasket, oil and filters and the rear diff. Still have the front diff and transfer box to do. Oh, and greasing the prop shaft.
Need to clean up the oil from the leaking rocker cover and make sure it's sorted now.
She also got a wash for the first time in about 1.5 years!
Fiiiiiiiinaly got around to getting new keys made up.
Except this presented a new problem.
Turns out the drivers side door lock actuator doesn't work when opening the door. Its always something huh [emoji28]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f346e75c09.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...0c71d380c6.jpg
