And just fitted new leather gaitors (with pretty blue stitching) on the t/case and handbrake levers.
I've only had them sitting here for about 12 months.

I highly recommend taking serious time off work.
You get to catch up on things that have been hanging around for far too long.

    (last week)
Cut off the useless SS Hot Dog used as a resonator on my 3" exhaust and welded in a 6" diameter 409SS chambered resonator, repositioning the tip so it's a little less exposed than before.

It's really tamed the drone at 2600RPM (yeah I know, a weird RPM range for drone?)

Now to fix the buzz in the dash that is doing my head in.
Probably should throw in the new gearbox mounts to see if they help before tearing into the dash (again)

Bugger. I've been home for ages and not done them ( I plead insanity ). Now you are going to shame me into fitting all the good stuff I got from Mario ( RIP mate ) that are sitting in the back.. Then fix the D1 timing belt...Then sort out the Series so I can sell it.... Then paint the OKA. Hours of fun.... Oh yeah, and find that thing for Baz.

    BIG BIG THANKS SLUNNIE!!!

Had to get a look at this (just went next door) and wow and now am sure this is the way to go, would have loved to see the dash whilst driving but it looked at the end he was about 50mph. Those changes are almost imperceptible and only a minor engine note change.

Whilst I do accept the M57 is probably a better motor, the TD5 especially considering the age and smart use of technology in the pumping and ECU versus common rail is totally underrated out there in the non Landy 4x4 world. Sure stock is not a hard goer per se but a simple tune and cat delete etc and especially with a VNT and it is great to drive even with the 4HP, that 8 speed is a game changer.

    Dear Santa,
Please give me a 8 speed in my D2 and I will be good forever

Nah! … the CAT battery in the D2 was installed in Aug 2012 and lately will not charge very much past 11 volts - I reckon its dropped a cell…
She’s not mobile atm anyway as we continue working through a list of items requiring rebuilding or replacing (including a few modifications too) so a new Battery will added to that list.
