I havent heard of a normally serviced transfer case ever giving abnormal problems from towing,,
I have heard of gearboxes and diffs.
Your thoughts on the reason AdamHunter?

? I don't have experience in towing with the td5. All of 200km picking up the van I purchased last Sunday! In saying that, in busy reading up on gearbox & torque converters & additional coolers and monitoring.

Finally fixed the source of my m&s lights flashing when putting it into reverse. Went from intermittent when I got the car (every few months or more) some 6 years ago to every time (a few weeks ago). Seems like the switch was never properly aligned so the reverse contact was dirty. No water ingress but sealed up better now.
Whoever said you can get the switch out in 1/2 hr must have small hands with long fingers or a special tool set.
Btw: my getting the fault on an irregular basis was why I created the m&s causes and remedies thread some 4 years ago.

    Newish Propshaft

I've put in a newish front prop shaft, so now I have a 4wd Land Rover not 2WD.
I did buy a bearing repair kit, but the centre bearing housing was hosed.
I'm wondering how to get the centre bearing greased, without dropping the prop shaft and removing the universals.
    I got some new muddies.

Also put on the new muddies

Catchfors M/T made by Wind Force Chinese but bought at wholesale.
I'm off to Mansfield over the Labor day long week end. I'll see how they go.

Today new radiator and put HID extension looms on for my Super Cibies to tidy up the wiring. Over last few months new Head gaskets and ARP studs, new bronze impeller water pump, new thermostat, installed coolant filter, cleaned out engine oil cooler, cleaned up all under bonnet wiring. Today also new second hand overflow tank in VGC. All up she is better than new.

    Cheers
