And you've got the burns to prove it!
And you've got the burns to prove it!
Hahaha!!!
Well my hands aren't that big, so I wear gloves that have like a rubbery grippy material on palm and finger areas so I can get a good bite on the spin-off filter and usually do that one by hand. The cent. filter is easier than that one, but I do have a bad habit of dropping the screws, so it takes probably more time to find them than it does to do the job. 😉
So, I've had a little trouble with loosing coolant and very wide fluctuations on the Nanocom re coolant temp.
When I (just) bought the car it had an alloy radiator and it was obviously leaking at core to tank inlet side at the front top, so time to change. When I started to pull it out I found it was also leaking core to tank at the bottom outlet corner at the rear.
My local radiator fixeruperer warned me initially that alloy tanks tended to be brittle so I decided to go back to my trusty old (still sitting being stripped slowly) girl and nick the almost new radiator out of that.
While I am at it, C/O the thermostat, the trans oil cooler (new one leaking) and the fan. All the old ones are known good.
Trouble is I'm working outside, temps low to mid 40s for a while to come.
As I'm this far under the bonnet I might just pull the NEW alternator of the old girl and keep it as a spare.
Actually, working outside is probably better than in a shed as I am in the shade most of the day from a couple of gum trees.
Right now, middle of the day I'm being a Mexican, a little in the air conditioned house for a siesta, oh it's a hard life.
Till we meet again
Mike
