What happened to your Discovery 2 today?

I wired in a battery charger to the deep cycle battery. It's in the glovebox (the lights in the pic). All I have to do is pull up and plug it in. A recent driving holiday with dual fridges has highlighted the need for a battery charger. I've only got a 65 ah battery right now. Plan to upgrade it to 130 ah when it burns out.

Also put on the new muddies

I'm off to Mansfield over the Labor day long week end. I'll see how they go.
After talking to a few of my customers in Mansfield and surrounds and how dry it is, you better pray they get some decent rain then as your muddies will be a useful as teats on a bull.

UPDATE: Also just spoke to one of my customers today in a fire tower in East Gippsland he can see all the way to Mt Kosiosko and he said it is dead dry, they need rain badly, so no mud spots for a while

Today I thought that I'd fit a D2a intercooler to my D2 TD5. Far out what a job. 1/2 the front end seem to have to come out. I had a lot of trouble getting the bottom of the new intercooler in its mounts so I ended up taking the battery box out. No problems from there.

After a test drive I can notice a power increase. It's not pushing 200hp or anything, but it's noticeable. I filled it up with fuel today so to see if it's made any difference to fuel economy.

I did notice what looks like fresh engine oil inside the silicon intercooler hoses that were only put on 5000km ago. Is this a concern?

And the D2 owners whinge about how hard if is to change the oil filters, prima donners, your pic shows just how easy they are to access, you only need to remove a few things to get to them

They aren't that bad. I can replace both of mine in under 10 min without taking anything off.
